A bright-eyed New York lawyer heads to a tiny Southern town for his first big case, which is to defend an eccentric “rollercizing” poetry professor who is accused of the bizarre murder of his beloved wife. Settling into his makeshift office behind a taxidermy shop and meeting his quirky team of local misfits, the young lawyer suspects that winning his first big case will not be easy, especially when his client is always making himself look guilty.
Trial & Error will focus on a different murder case each season for maximum comic effect. Larry Henderson is a small-town poetry professor being defended by a novice attorney, Josh Simon in a murder trial: After his wife went through a glass door, he interrupted his 911 call to talk to the cable company, which is both suspicious and weird. The prosecutor, Carol Anne Keane, hoping to make a splash with the case, asks that bail be set at $93 million. The show is light, silly and, despite that death, without malice.
