Oscar's life seems almost perfect...sure he's divorced and his apartment is a mess, but he's the host of a well-known sports show, and is enjoying his bachelor lifestyle in New York City. That is until his college friend, Felix, shows up at Oscar's apartment having just been dumped by his wife. Oscar does his best to console his old buddy and get him back on the dating horse, but his attempts uncover just how unresolved his own feelings are about his ex.
The plot of the upcoming TV show will be based on the Broadway play by Neil Simonâ€™s â€œThe Odd Coupleâ€. Matthew Perry, in addition to the leading role, will also be a co-wrote (with John Keenan of the â€œLosersâ€) and one of the executive producers of the project. Heroes of Simons original play are two guys sharing a living space. Matthew Perry will play a character named Oscar Madison â€“ carefree scruff. And who will make him company and perform the role of Felix Unger, squeamish bore, which is clearly not happy with his neighbor, is still unknown. Interpretation of the play â€œThe Odd Coupleâ€ have already taken place: in 1967 released the eponymous film with Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon, and after 30 years â€“ a sequel with the same actors. Also, a serial embodiment of Neil Simonâ€™s work was made in 1970 in the broadcast channel ABC and lasted for five seasons.
