    Michael is struggling to accept that Alex is the clinical lead on AAU, made all the more difficult because she is taking all the interesting cases. When a repatriated patient comes in from The Gambia, Michael refuses to be shut out, but his diagnosis and Alex's are completely different. As the patient declines, will the two consultants be able to work together to save her life? Rafi and Sahira are trying to spend some time together, but when Hanssen manipulates Sahira into forgoing a night out with her husband for a tricky operation, Rafi decides that enough is enough. Lleucu is excited about moving in with Chantelle, but she doesn't know that the move-in date clashes with Chantelle's Ibiza holiday. Once the truth is revealed, will the two girls manage to salvage their friendship without alienating their patient?

    Sahira cannot believe it when Hanssen takes her off CTU but she is determined not to let him control her. When Rafi confronts her about Greg, she is overwhelmed with the pressures being placed on both her professional and personal lives and begins to wonder if she can cope.

Ollie has to be reminded to keep personal feelings off the ward when he tries to protect Tara by covering for her mistake. Dan has a difficult day, but he finally finds the courage to be true to himself.

    Episode #36 (): Unsafe Haven (2)

    In the face of a hospital-wide outbreak, Luc is determined to make up for missing a diagnosis the day before. Elsewhere, Dan's father is admitted as a patient.

    Episode #37 (): Long Way Down

    With his father on the ward, Dan is finding himself torn between his new relationship with Simon, his duties as a doctor and his father's perception of him. Eddi and Luc are finally together, but when Hanssen offers Luc a permanent contract, he has to decide whether he can commit both personally and professionally. Tara tries to impress Hanssen while completing her duties on Darwin, but when she finally gets the attention from him that she has been craving, it is for entirely different reasons.

    Episode #38 (): Stepping Up to the Plate

    Chantelle wants to be taken more seriously as a nurse, and Ric encourages her to speak up more. When faced with a serious ethical dilemma, Chantelle finally finds her voice, but has she gone too far? Michael is furious that he is missing his son's birthday because he has been pulled into work at the last minute. As he battles to pull a downbeat AAU team together, will he realise that sometimes his first commitment needs to be to his family, not the hospital. Elliot's exam results are in and overall he has achieved excellent results. However, when his star student starts doubting herself, Elliot has to step up and give her the confidence she needs to keep studying.

    Episode #39 (): Only You

    Dan and Simon are thoroughly loved up. This new found happiness even has an effect on Dan's work - he is more confident with his patients and stands up to Serena. However, when Simon is offered a dream job in Leeds and looks like he'll be leaving, Dan's new found confidence flounders. Can he bear to be separated from Simon? Chrissie and Sacha struggle to define their relationship. Their plans for a romantic dinner are blown out of the water when Ella, the medical student from a few weeks ago, is admitted as a patient. Sacha attempts to help Ella, but Chrissie is far more condemning - Ella almost let Sacha die, she can't forgive her. Tara is anxious - she must meet with Hanssen to learn her fate. Will he let her continue to treat patients now he knows about her tumour? Ollie and Tara work together on a former patient of Hanssen's. Ollie is suspicious of Tara's furtive meetings with Hanssen - is she trying to stitch him up?

    Tension between Ollie and Tara threatens to affect a heart-breaking patient case.

    Episode #41 (): From Here to Maternity

    When Mo goes into labour, she has to face up to the questions and consequences of her pregnancy; but who will support her when her birthing partner is delayed? Serena is struggling to meet targets under Hanssen's watchful eye, and comes up with a scheme that will change the face of the hospital. Eddi is determined to prove to Sacha that she is not in a bad mood about Luc, but is she protesting too much?

    Episode #42 (): Breathless

    Tara is keen to impress Jac and gain her backing for a research project. However, when Jac fobs her off on Ollie the atmosphere is tense, leading Tara to confront Ollie about their 'almost kiss'. The two agree to keep things professional, but will their feelings be so easily ignored? Michael is back from the US and not best pleased with Serena's new initiative. How will AAU cope with the non-referral scheme and is Serena friend or foe? Malick is caught between Serena and Ric. Can he truly deliver a more efficient system without compromising patient care?

    Episode #43 (): Crimes and Misdemeanours

    Malick struggles with treating a convicted murderer but when he learns his side of the story, he's determined to save him and reunite him with his daughter, despite the patient's refusal to consent. Eddi wants to prove that she can cope under the pressure of the non-referral policy, but her determination to be efficient, and the encouragement of a new locum, leads to her discharging a patient who is seriously ill. Jac doesn't want to help Elliot out with a difficult patient, until Elliot attacks her for her selfishness, and she realises that she can play as part of the team when she wants to.

    Episode #44 (): You and Me

    Mo is back at work after giving up her baby. She insists to Jonny that she is fine, but Jonny is not so sure whether Mo is physically or mentally strong enough to be back at work yet. When Emily, a young farmer, is brought in with serious injuries, the new non-referral system has Chrissie concerned; will her patient still receive the best care possible? She clashes with Serena over getting Emily the right treatment, but earns Serena's respect in the process. Serena mentions there is a nursing position going - she thinks Chrissie would be the perfect person. Will Chrissie leave AAU? Hanssen still needs to get Holby into shape financially. He has hired fresh blood, George, to help him achieve his goals, but will he and George see eye-to-eye on the best way to run Holby? Eddi is annoyed by Chrissie, and grows closer to Max

    Episode #45 (): The Devil Will Come

    Michael is ready to throw in the towel on the no-referral policy as AAU reaches breaking point. However, when he finds out that new business manager George Binns is carrying out a financial appraisal on all wards, he determines to buckle down and impress the 'money man'. But, with AAU theatre full, Michael is forced to take desperate action with a patient's care in front of George. What will this mean for the future of AAU? Tara is so desperate to prove she can cope with Jac's brutal regime that she rejects any help from Elliot or Ollie. Her pride then stops her from then admitting she is struggling with a patient's diagnosis, resulting in a routine test going very wrong. Chantelle is struggling to believe she will be the best candidate for the permanent nursing position on Keller. Her confidence is further undermined when an old 'friend' from college turns up as a patient and jealously makes a complaint against her.

    Episode #46 (): Taxi for Spence

    Michael is at his wits end with the, now permanent, no referrals policy. Ordered by Hanssen to send a guest patient to another hospital rather than transfer them to Keller, he decides to personally ensure they get there. But when there are no ambulances available, Michael decides on drastic action with devastating consequences. Serena is less than impressed when she discovers that a recovering alcoholic is the primary candidate for a liver transplant. But when it appears that they are no longer suitable to receive the organ, Serena clashes with Ric as she fights for her patient to be given a second chance. Mo is disappointed when Jonny reveals he can no longer go to her family do because of his auntie's birthday. Feeling bad, Jonny decides to try and set Mo up with Mr Thompson (her obstetrician). Mo is furious when she finds out what he's been up to, especially when she realises he lied about his auntie's birthday too

    Episode #47 (): I'm Sticking with You

    Mo feels isolated from Jonny after he lied to her about seeing Jac. A complicated medical dilemma shows up in the shape of a Jehovah’s Witness who wants a bloodless operation. Mo and Jac can not agree about how best to proceed. Following Ritchie Mooney’s death, Hanssen has closed the non-referral scheme and is demanding answers.

    Episode #48 (): Devil's Dance

    When drugs go missing on the ward Max is quick to cover and absolve Eddi, but Sacha is not convinced and has serious concerns about Eddi's mindset. When a Sickle Cell patient then arrives in need of a heavy dose of painkillers, does Max have her best interests at heart, and is Eddi putting her faith in the right friend? Jac refuses to read Tara's research project until she has solved the guest case, but when it takes longer than expected it interferes with her date with Ollie. Tara realises she will have to face up to Jac. Can she solve the mystery of the guest case and will she have the courage to turn down Jac's help in order to go out with Ollie tonight. Malick naively thinks that his new students will be a breeze, but is thrown when he realises they get to mark him on his ability as a teacher. Malick tries his own techniques, but an old master has to show him the way

    Episode #49 (): A Crack in the Ice

    Jac is worried that the hospital staff are gossiping about her and Jonny. When she sees Ollie and Mo whispering, she jumps to conclusions and takes it out on Mo when they have to work together on a case. She doesn't need help, and her relationship with Jonny doesn't mean anything. Will Jac be able to admit the truth? Max and Eddi have snuck down to the lab for a moment alone. They are interrupted by none other than Luc. When Luc discovers Eddi has found herself a new man, he is quick to assure Sacha he has only returned for his research documents and will soon be gone. Sacha begs him to stay, telling him they need his help. Can Luc work alongside Eddi after everything that has happened? It is Chrissie's birthday, but she doesn't want a big song and dance, despite Sacha's desire to spoil her on her big day. Chrissie's annoyance mounts as she deals with difficult patients and Chantelle gets underfoot. Will Chrissie be able to see the bigger picture and enjoy her day?

    Episode #50 (): Hold On Me

    Tensions are high as Ric, Serena, Michael and George await the outcome of the report on Mr Mooney. Serena tries to get on with her day, introducing new streamlined treatment, which brings her into direct opposition with Ric. However, when a case turns out to be more complicated than expected can she bring herself to ask for some old-school help from Ric? Luc continues to struggle to accept Max and Eddi's relationship; when Michael points out Max will be required to leave if Luc commits to staying, Luc makes a decision. However, when Max invites Eddi to leave with him and Sacha reveals that there are drugs missing on the ward, how far will Luc go to protect Eddi? Jac and Ollie are away at a conference. When Jonny and Mo find Ollie's phone left in the locker room, they cannot resist pulling a prank on Tara. But when things get out of hand, who will be the first to break?

    Episode #51 (): Blood Money

    Hanssen receives yet another life-threatening phone-call from a mysterious caller; this time, the man has come to the hospital to make his threats real. Not happy with the compensation money he received after his father's death, Nick Mooney takes Hanssen hostage in the back of his van... Jac is in a foul mood and Jonny assumes it is work-related, but he is soon put straight when she tells him she might be pregnant. Whilst he is desperate to know if this is the case, Jac is in no hurry to find out. She finally decides to take the test, but what will the outcome be? When Sacha suggests he and Chrissie tie the knot sooner rather than later for tax reasons, Chrissie is less than happy. Refusing to talk to him, he tries his hardest to make it up to her, announcing his feelings more publicly than he planned. But will this be enough for a demanding Chrissie?

    Episode #52 (): When Sacha Met Chrissie

    With five days to go until their wedding day, Chrissie and Sacha have agreed to keep it quiet; just them, no-one else. But when Sacha's daughters find out, it's not long before his mother gets wind of it, and after that their secret is well and truly out. With the pressure piling up, Chrissie starts to have serious doubts about marrying Sacha and confides in Malick. With her hen night in full swing, Chrissie can't bear it any longer and leaves - is she on her way to see Sacha to call it off, or will she go ahead with their big day? Eddi is relying more and more on the camoxidan that Max introduced her to, but when Michael imposes a strict drugs signing-out policy on AAU, her supply runs out and she resorts to stealing drugs from a patient. Luc discovers what she's been doing and confronts her, but will he report her, or will he keep quiet and help her overcome her addiction? As Ollie and Tara's relationship strengthens, he accidentally tells her that he loves her. Tara struggles to come to terms with it, but a patient makes her see that they are soul mates. She overcomes her fear of commitment and gathers the courage to tell him she loves him too... albeit in Chinese!
