Death in Paradise takes place on the resort island, which is located on the territory of the Caribbean Sea. Suddenly a local detective was killed by bandits. In view of the above, the authority sent a new one on the island, itâ€™s a highly skilled detective, whose name is Richard Poole. This guy, for some reason hates tropical islands and resorts, thatâ€™s why he did not glad to the fact that he will have to work here. But there was nothing to be done he stays here and start to invastigate the crime.
When the owner of a rum distillery is murdered during a seance, all the clues point to the prime suspect being a ghost. With DI Humphrey Goodman and his team a man down, Commissioner Selwyn steps in to help them look for a more earth-bound killer.
The team enters the world of surfing when DI Goodman is convinced that there's more to the murder of a surf instructor than meets the eye. Dwayne works hard to impress the new sergeant.
The Saint Marie Heritage Society is re-enacting the French invasion of the island when its president dies. Veteran rock band the Flowers of Progress are on the island to record a new album after years of being apart, and with a major sponsorship deal hanging in the balance, tensions are running high. However, their reunion proves to be short-lived when lead singer Stevie Smith is electrocuted in the swimming pool. It seems the victim had a stormy relationship with his brother and fellow band member Jim, while there are rifts between the others and more than one has an axe to grind. But how could any of them have done the deed when they were all in the studio at the time? To add to Humphrey's problems, he is still finding his feet without Camille, although the arrival of new officer JP helps lighten Dwayne's workload.
Saint Marie celebrates getting through to the final of the Inter-Island Volleyball Championships, but the party atmosphere is short-lived when one of the players is stabbed through the heart. With such a high-profile murder, DI Goodman and the team are under pressure to solve the crime as soon as they possibly can, while Commissioner Patterson squares up to old enemy Anton Burrage, the governor-elect of the rival volleyball team's island.
